Sharing Care with Single Mothers This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to gather, share, and remind the people around us that they are valued.
This Thanksgiving, GFoundation partnered with Neighbor Plus to provide practical support and thoughtful gifts to 18 single mothers in our community.
Along with essential groceries for their families, we prepared skincare products and cosmetics specifically for the mothers themselves. We also joined them for a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Neighbor Plus, creating an opportunity to share food, conversation, and time together.
Preparing Thanksgiving Gifts for Single Mothers
Single mothers often spend much of their time and resources caring for their children and managing everyday household needs.
For Thanksgiving, GFoundation wanted to provide both practical assistance for their families and something the mothers could enjoy personally.
We prepared gifts for 18 single mothers, including skincare products and cosmetics selected with the mothers in mind. Essential groceries were also provided to help support their families during the holiday season.
The combination of groceries and personal gifts reflected a simple message: supporting a family also means recognizing and caring for the mother at the center of it.
Continuing Monthly Support for Single-Mother Families
This Thanksgiving outreach was an extension of GFoundation’s ongoing support for single mothers and their children.
Through our regular program, GFoundation provides monthly support to three single-mother families, including food and essential products based on their needs.
This consistent assistance is designed to help with everyday necessities throughout the year, while our Thanksgiving outreach gave us an opportunity to expand seasonal support to 18 mothers.
Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to providing both ongoing practical assistance and meaningful moments of care.
Celebrating Thanksgiving Together with Neighbor Plus
Support can also mean creating opportunities for people to gather and connect.
GFoundation joined a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by our local partner, Neighbor Plus, bringing mothers together to share a holiday meal and spend time in community.
During the gathering, our team personally distributed the Thanksgiving gifts we had prepared.
Sharing a meal gave us an opportunity to connect with the mothers beyond the items being provided and celebrate Thanksgiving together.
We are grateful to Neighbor Plus for its continued partnership and for creating a welcoming space where mothers could enjoy food, conversation, and community during the holiday.
More Than Everyday Essentials
Groceries and household necessities are an important part of GFoundation’s support for single-mother families, but practical needs are only one part of a person’s well-being.
This Thanksgiving, including skincare products and cosmetics allowed us to offer something specifically for the mothers—not simply items needed to run a household.
Small opportunities for self-care can remind mothers that their own well-being matters, too.
Through both monthly assistance and seasonal gatherings, GFoundation seeks to support single mothers in ways that recognize their practical needs while treating every mother with dignity and care.
Continuing to Stand Alongside Single Mothers
Our Thanksgiving gathering was one moment within a broader commitment.
Throughout the year, GFoundation continues working alongside local partners to provide food, household essentials, and other practical resources for single mothers and their children.
We are grateful to every donor, volunteer, and community partner who makes this support possible.
Together, we can continue building a community where single mothers feel supported, valued, and connected.
Your support helps provide practical resources and steady encouragement for mothers working to care for their children.
