Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026

What Is Menstrual Hygiene Day?

Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is celebrated every year on May 28 to raise awareness about menstrual health, period poverty, and access to safe menstrual care.

At GFoundation, we use this day to support women and girls facing financial hardship, including women in shelters, single mothers, and refugee families.

Understanding the Reality

Period Poverty Exists Here, Too

Many women and girls in the United States continue to face barriers to accessing menstrual products.

For women in shelters, refugee families, and low-income households, menstrual care can become an added financial burden during already difficult times. Lack of access to menstrual products can affect confidence, daily routines, school attendance, work, and overall well-being.

At GFoundation, we continue working with community partners to help provide menstrual care support for women and families in need.
