AT GFOUNDATION, sponsoring a child in Korea means more than monthly financial support—it’s a deeply personal connection that bridges lives across borders.
Whether you’re a Korean American or simply someone with a heart for Korea, this is a chance to walk alongside a child on their journey from vulnerability to self-reliance. It’s a meaningful way to give back, stay connected to your roots, and create lasting impact.
Who We Support
We serve children from:
-
Low-income families
-
Residential care and single-parent households
-
Children with disabilities or illnesses
-
And “long-waiting children”—those who’ve waited the longest for a sponsor
Children are referred through welfare centers, residential care facilities, or identified directly by our Self-Reliance Support Team, with priority given to those most in need.
How We Support
Your monthly gift of $50 helps meet a child’s essential needs across five key areas:
- Daily living expenses – food, clothing, and other basic necessities
- Educational support – school supplies, tuition, and learning materials
- Mental health care – counseling and emotional well-being services
- Medical costs – treatment, checkups, and health support
- Preparing for self-reliance – savings and guidance for children leaving their care facilities upon coming of age.
Together, we walk with each child—from today’s needs to tomorrow’s possibilities.

How Our Program Meets Child and Donor’s Needs
Every part of our sponsorship program is thoughtfully designed to honor the child’s voice and dignity—while also nurturing a meaningful connection with you, the sponsor.
Here’s how we support both children and donors:
-
💝 Children choose their own gifts using your generous donation
-
📦 Welcome kit includes your child’s profile, a sponsorship guidebook, and a small gift (like a keyring) to symbolize your sponsorship.
-
📈 Annual growth reports to keep you informed of your child’s development and milestones
-
💌 Personal updates are also available year-round—just email us at give@gfus.org
- 🧒 In-person meeting when visiting Korea (based on the child’s consent and comfort)
