Supporting Families Through Winter Essentials
In January 2026, Gfoundation partnered with Korean Saehan Church of Louisville, led by Rev. Sanghun Kim, to support refugee families during the winter season in Louisville, Kentucky.
Through this initiative, essential winter items—including hats, scarves, and socks—were distributed to families adjusting to colder weather conditions.
Between January 17 and January 31, a total of:
- 393 hats and hairbands
- 208 pairs of socks
- 24 scarves
were delivered for community distribution.
Meeting Immediate Needs for Refugee Families
For many refugee families, especially those newly resettled, access to seasonal clothing can be limited.
These winter items helped meet immediate needs, particularly for children adapting to unfamiliar weather conditions.
During the distribution, children eagerly tried on their new items, while parents expressed their gratitude and asked that their appreciation be shared.
One moment stood out:
A young boy held onto his new hat long after receiving it,
quietly sharing that it was the first new winter item he had ever owned.
This moment reflects how even simple items can carry deep meaning for families rebuilding their lives.
