A Student-Led Effort from Art & Design High School

Last month, we were deeply moved by a powerful act of compassion from the students at Art and Design High School in New York City. Through their student-led Discussions for Democracy Club, these young changemakers organized a special donation drive to collect essential hygiene items for women in need across the city.

From April 1 to May 2, the students gathered donations of pads, tampons, soap, towels, and other critical items. Their mission was simple but meaningful: to restore dignity and meet the basic needs of women facing financial hardship.

On May 13, two student representatives delivered boxes full of donations to our New York office. We were overwhelmed with gratitude—not only by the generous volume of supplies but by the passion, thoughtfulness, and solidarity these students demonstrated throughout the drive.

To the students of Art and Design’s Discussions for Democracy Club and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) who supported this effort:
Thank you. Your dedication has encouraged and inspired us deeply. We are now distributing these items to shelters and community centers across New York and New Jersey, where they are already making a difference.

Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing updates soon on how these donations are changing lives.
