Everyday personal care products can make a meaningful difference for women and families entering emergency shelters or transitional housing. Access to shampoo and other hygiene essentials helps meet immediate personal care needs during a period of transition.

GFoundation USA recently received an in-kind donation of 930 bottles of Aloe Grapefruit Purifying Shampoo from Hair Rules Studio, a New York City-based hair care brand and salon founded by hairstylist Anthony Dickey.

This contribution strengthens GFoundation’s supply of personal care products and supports its ongoing efforts to provide essential hygiene items to women and families experiencing housing instability.

Supporting Women and Families Through Hair Care Essentials

Hair Rules is known for its approach to inclusive hair care, with an emphasis on understanding and celebrating different hair textures. Founded by Anthony Dickey, the brand brings its hair care products and expertise to a diverse range of customers. In total, Hair Rules contributed 930 bottles of shampoo to GFoundation USA. The donation adds to the personal care supplies available for GFoundation’s shelter support programs.

Bringing Donated Products Into Hygiene Kits

Through its Women’s Shelter & Transitional Housing Support Program, GFoundation prepares Initial Hygiene Kits containing essential personal care items for women entering shelter services.

Thanks to Hair Rules’ generous donation, we provided initial hygiene kits to our first recipient shelter, the Hispanic Multi-Purpose Service Center (HMPSC) in Paterson, New Jersey. This is just the beginning—the rest of the shampoos will be sent to various shelters throughout New York and New Jersey, as well as NYC.

Why In-Kind Donations Matter

In-kind donations help nonprofit organizations make use of essential goods that can be incorporated directly into existing programs. Contributions such as shampoo and other personal care products help GFoundation replenish its supplies and prepare hygiene kits for shelter partners.

Corporate donations also create opportunities for businesses to contribute tangible resources to community-based support efforts. When donated goods align with the needs of shelter residents, they can become a practical part of the assistance provided by local organizations.

Through partnerships with businesses and community organizations, GFoundation continues working to make essential personal care products available to women and families navigating housing instability.

Continuing the Partnership

GFoundation USA extends its sincere appreciation to Anthony Dickey and the entire Hair Rules team for donating 930 bottles of shampoo to support its shelter programs.

This contribution strengthens the supply of personal care essentials available for GFoundation’s Initial Hygiene Kit Program and supports its ongoing collaboration with shelter partners in New York and New Jersey.

We welcome opportunities to work with businesses and community partners whose in-kind contributions can help meet the everyday needs of women and families.

Together, we can help make essential personal care products more accessible to women and families as they work toward greater stability.

Your gift helps families in need access essential products so they can stay healthy, confident, and focused on their daily lives.
