During a recent visit to New York, members of the Gfoundation Korea team spent time with one of Gfoundation’s partner women’s shelters in the Bronx. The visit provided an opportunity to see how community partnerships help deliver practical support to women and families rebuilding stability.
As part of the visit, the team delivered donated essential supplies prepared to support mothers and children staying at the shelter. Providing these items is one of the ways Gfoundation works alongside trusted community partners to ensure that donations directly support families in need.
Listening to Local Partners and Understanding Community Needs
After a short introduction from the shelter staff, the team toured the facility and spent time speaking with staff members about the daily realities of supporting residents.
Through these conversations, the team gained deeper insight into the most needed items for mothers and infants currently staying at the shelter. Staff members shared which supplies are most helpful for families during their stay, allowing Gfoundation to better understand how future donations and community support can respond to the shelter’s needs.
Learning directly from frontline staff helps ensure that donated items—such as baby supplies and everyday essentials—are aligned with the real needs of the community.
