On October 15, Gfoundation Ethiopia led a lively handwashing education event in two schools in Oromia Region—Melka Sebeta School and Rogge Goro School. The day was more than a simple celebration of Global Handwashing Day—it was a moment of learning, leadership, and life-changing awareness.
Clean Hands, Confident Students
Members of the student-led WASH clubs took the lead, confidently demonstrating each step of proper handwashing—from wetting and lathering to rinsing and drying.
Their classmates eagerly followed along, laughing and cheering as they learned how a simple habit could protect them from illness and keep their classrooms healthy.
From Schools to Communities
Teachers encouraged students to bring the lesson home—to show their parents and siblings what they had learned.
As children practiced at home, the message spread from classroom to household, creating ripple effects of awareness and health throughout their community.
