Stronger Together: Gfoundation x Korean Church of Syracuse

At Gfoundation, we know that true impact is a team effort. Our ongoing partnership with the Korean Church of Syracuse recently delivered essential household items and comfort to refugee families starting new lives in the community.

A Coordinated Day of Giving and Connection

The success of this effort hinged on efficient collaboration. Gfoundation supplied a generous range of donated goods, while the dedicated volunteers and staff at the Korean Church of Syracuse took the lead on logistics. They sorted and organized the items by type, creating thoughtful gift bags and packages to ensure every family received a well-rounded and necessary assortment.

We distributed these packages directly to refugee families with whom we have existing connections in the neighborhood. For these friends, who are building new homes and lives from the ground up, the relief and visible gratitude upon receiving these basics were an important reminder of why we do this work.

This distribution also required a sensitive approach. We learned of a refugee family that had just arrived in Syracuse with virtually nothing. Compounding their challenges, they were dealing with the grief of a family loss right as they were trying to resettle. They were understandably anxious and preferred not to meet us directly. Respecting their privacy, we coordinated with another trusted refugee friend to ensure the remaining daily necessities were safely delivered to them. We hope this gesture of sharing conveyed a message of love and comfort during their difficult transition.
