How Gfoundation is Helping
Gfoundation supports schools in Ethiopia by building and renovating their restrooms. Students, especially girls, face difficulty walking to washrooms that are far away and unhygienic. Not only does this pose a health risk for all students, but the location and poor maintenance of these washrooms oftentimes deter girls from coming to school during their periods.
Gfoundation is also building new school washrooms. This helps both boys and girls to have a safer, cleaner, and more private space in their schools. For boys, these restrooms provide a changing room. For girls, clean washrooms guarantee a safe place during their periods. This can encourage them to come to school during their periods.
