Food and Hunger

Over 820 million people face uncertainty about their next meals, struggling with hunger, starvation, and malnutrition.
Our efforts aim to ensure that everyone, everywhere, has access to nutritious food for a healthy and fulfilling life.

Around 9 million people still die from hunger and malnutrition-related causes every year.

Over 820 million people worldwide are experiencing chronic hunger, and an additional 161 million people during the COVID-19 pandemic don’t have access to enough food to meet their daily needs. The lack of adequate food leads to malnutrition, which affects the most vulnerable populations, including babies, children, pregnant women, and those with illnesses or disabilities. People who are chronically malnourished can suffer long-term health consequences and immune deficiencies. Even more than this, malnutrition disrupts children's physical and cognitive development. We need to address the immediate food needs and work on long-term solutions to break the cycle of food insecurity.
