Crisis

Immediate response, supplying needed goods and supplies, long-term recovery. We stay with people until they can rebuild their lives.

The number of people needing humanitarian assistance is estimated to be 339 million in 2023.

Humanitarian needs are rising every year. Just one year ago, in 2022, the number of people in need of assistance was 274 million. Today, crises are no longer limited to disaster and conflict recovery. With climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, prolonged conflicts in Ukraine, ongoing food crises, and one of the biggest disasters in Turkey and Syria, the nature of humanitarian crises has shifted from immediate response to sustainable, long term assistance. As we face increasing crises each year, we must not only respond to urgent needs but also develop sustainable solutions. We must also remember that in times of crises, there are suffering people.
