Give a Child a Summer to Remember

Summer Camp Season Is Here!

For many children, summer is a time to learn, play, make friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

However, for children from refugee and newly arrived families, summer can bring additional challenges. When school is out, access to educational, recreational, and enrichment opportunities can become more limited.

That’s why local churches and community organizations work hard each year to provide summer camp programs where children can stay active, build friendships, develop confidence, and prepare for the school year ahead.

This summer, GFoundation is partnering with local churches in Louisville, KY · Syracuse, NY · Norwood, NJ to bring summer camp experiences to children in need.

What we are preparing

• Camp Gift Bags for children attending the Louisville Soccer Camp or Syracuse Summer Camp.
• Menstrual Hygiene Kits for girls participating in hygiene education programs during Louisville summer camp.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, churches, and supporters, many of these items are already being collected and prepared. Additional support will help us reach even more children this summer.

Louisville Soccer Camp

July 20–24 | Louisville, Kentucky

From July 20–24, Korea Saehan Church of Louisville will host a soccer camp focused on sports, teamwork, and personal growth. Last year, the program brought together approximately 120 children for a week of learning, friendship, and healthy competition.

Volunteers from Chodae Community Church in New Jersey will travel to Louisville to serve as coaches and helpers throughout the camp. Children will receive soccer uniforms and cleats so they can participate confidently in practices and games.

Throughout the week, children will be divided into five to six teams for soccer training, team-building activities, and a camp tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team at the end of the program.

Beyond learning soccer skills, children have opportunities to develop teamwork, self-confidence, self-control, and positive social skills.

Menstrual Hygiene Education & Support

July 20–24 | Louisville, Kentucky

Also taking place July 20–24, girls attending the summer camp will participate in menstrual health and hygiene education sessions.

For many families, purchasing these items regularly can be difficult due to economic burdens. Providing these kits helps girls access basic hygiene products while participating confidently in summer activities.

Through a combination of menstrual health class and practical support, the program aims to help girls feel informed, prepared, and confident throughout the summer.

Syracuse Summer Camp

June 29–July 3 | Syracuse, New York

From June 29–July 3, children attending a summer camp program in Syracuse will participate in Bible study, crafts, sports activities, and other enrichment programs.

These activities provide children with encouragement, friendship, and positive experiences during the summer months.
