A Community Partnership That Brings Warmth
As winter approaches in Syracuse, having warm clothing is more than a matter of comfort—it is essential.
GFoundation was grateful to partner once again with Korean Church of Syracuse for its annual Clothing Drive, which supports refugee students as they prepare for the colder months.
Over the years, we’ve been proud to collaborate with the church through summer camps, holiday gift drives, and other community initiatives. This year’s clothing drive was another opportunity to work together in support of local refugee families.
Providing Winter Clothing for Students
For this year’s drive, GFoundation donated 40 new clothing items, including sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, and parkas from brands such as Nike.
To help students choose what best suited their needs, volunteers displayed the donated clothing separately, allowing each student to select the items they wanted most.
Within just five minutes, every item had been distributed.
For many students, a warm jacket or hoodie will provide comfort throughout Syracuse’s long winter while helping them feel prepared for school and everyday activities.
Small Acts Can Make a Big Difference
Something as simple as warm winter clothing can make a meaningful difference for students adjusting to a new community.
Having appropriate clothing allows children to participate more comfortably in school, spend time outdoors with friends, and face the winter season with greater confidence.
These moments remind us that practical support can have a lasting impact on children’s daily lives.
