Recovery Continues. Hope Remains.

- Relief efforts continued today in another earthquake-affected community, one of the areas most severely impacted by the disaster.
- Two volunteer teams traveled to the affected area to continue emergency relief efforts.
- 1,600 hot dogs, 800 children’s gifts for the upcoming Día del Niño celebration, and 250 hygiene kits were distributed to children and families.
- A volunteer doctor and nurse from a local church joined the outreach to provide medical support.
- GFoundation and Fundación Genesis continue working with local partners to bring emergency relief, children’s gifts, and hope to communities still recovering from the earthquakes.
Recovery Is Far From Over
Nearly three weeks have passed since two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude struck Venezuela on June 24.
Although global headlines have begun to fade, the needs of affected families continue every day.
According to the latest official reports:
- 4,734 people have lost their lives
- 16,740 people have been injured
- 17,907 people remain without permanent housing
- 128,324 families have received emergency assistance
For thousands of families, recovery is only just beginning.
More Than 1,200 Aftershocks Continue to Disrupt Recovery
The earthquakes may be over, but the fear remains.
According to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), more than 1,200 aftershocks have been recorded since June 24.
Our local partner shared that just this week, two stronger aftershocks once again forced many families to leave their shelters and gather outside in fear.
Heavy rainfall has also flooded temporary tents, making already difficult living conditions even harder.
For many families, every day brings new challenges.
Responding Through Trusted Local Partnerships
GFoundation has established an official partnership with Fundación Genesis, a trusted nonprofit organization serving earthquake-affected communities in Venezuela.
Working alongside local churches and community leaders, our relief efforts are currently focused on Caracas and La Guaira, where many families continue rebuilding their lives.
As conditions continue to change, our local partners remain in direct communication with affected communities to identify urgent needs and coordinate relief efforts.
Whenever possible, relief supplies are purchased locally and distributed directly through trusted community networks, allowing assistance to reach families more quickly while also supporting local businesses during recovery.
Reaching Families Where Help Is Needed Most
Recovery efforts continue to face new challenges.
Our local partner has shared that access to some temporary shelters has become restricted, making direct distribution difficult in certain locations.
To continue serving families safely, GFoundation works closely with trusted local churches and community leaders to identify locations where emergency supplies can be delivered directly to those who need them most.
Every distribution is carefully coordinated with local partners on the ground to help ensure assistance reaches affected families efficiently and responsibly.
Continuing Relief for Families Recovering from the Earthquakes
Recovery efforts continue as GFoundation, Fundación Genesis, and local churches reach families in earthquake-affected communities across Venezuela.
This weekend’s outreach included:
