Korean Child Sponsorship Program

Gfoundation is committed to fulfilling its social responsibility and working with local communities to create a better world. Through our Child Sponsorship Program, a donor in the U.S. is matched with a child living in a childcare facility in South Korea. Sponsorship donations help cover the child's living expenses, education fees, and other special needs such as holiday or birthday gifts. Our goal is to support each child's holistic development—helping them grow up healthy, thrive emotionally and socially, and live in a safe, caring environment.

Accustoming to Giving Up at a Young Age

Many children in childcare facilities don't have parents, or they've been separated from their families because of abuse, neglect, or other hardships. In South Korea, over 10,000 children live in orphanages for reasons such as poverty, domestic violence, neglect, or divorce. Every child needs more than food and shelter to grow—but with limited support to meet their emotional, educational, and developmental needs, many of these children get used to disappointment and learn to give up far too early in life.

Child Sponsorship Program

1. Sign Up

Sign up to sponsor a child in Korea with general living expenses, education fees, counseling and therapy, medical fees and independent living preparation after exiting the childcare system.

2. Get Matched with a Sponsored Child

The information you provide will be shared with Gfoundation Korea, who will match you with a child living in childcare facility in South Korea.

3. Receive your Child Sponsorship Package

After being matched with your sponsored child, you will receive a Child Sponsor Package. The package includes a thank-you card with information about the child, a photo card, a keychain, a donor certificate, and a donor information pamphlet.
